Bacillus strains from the ovaries of Swiss albino mice (Mus musculus): deciphering of probiotic potential through an in vitro approach

Introduction and Aim: The health advantages, enhanced organoleptic features, global economic significance of probiotic-enriched food items have motivated researchers to discover novel probiotics. In light this, a study was performed assess the probiotic potential five Bacillus strains isolated from ovaries 8-week-old mice in previous study. Materials Methods: were appraised for their potentials, such as tolerance acidic pH, bile salt, phenol. haemolytic behaviour, antibiotic sensitivity characteristics, capacity produce amylase, protease L-asparaginase also assessed. Results: All isolates exhibited high survival simulated gastric juice conditions pepsin containing pH environments, up 1% bile, 0.5% cereus OM02 velezensis OM03 highest tolerance, with 50 % at 2.5 salt-containing media. found be amylase producers non-beta-haemolytic, however, OM04 beta-haemolytic.
